Each year the festival begins with the Rotary Club’s Famous Pancake Feed. During the all-day festival, enjoy food concessions, craft vendors, and other activities. The Elks Lodge Grand Parade begins at noon; the Lions Salmon Bake starts at 2:00 p.m.
The Festival concludes with Hoquiam’s renowned Loggers Show at 6:00 p.m. at the historic Olympic Stadium. Participants from throughout the Northwest participate in events at the evening logging show. The show ends with a fireworks display and offers great family entertainment…!

Running by the cranberry bogs is an incredible experience, getting many up close and personal with one of Grays Harbors most famous industries. Offering a 10k, a 5k and a 3k run, the Jog the Bog and Beach Race in Grayland, Washington is fun for all levels of runners. Taking place on the beach and along the roads leading through the cranberry bogs, the terrain of this race is flat, easy to follow and fun for the whole family. Race participant s will receive a comparative t-shirt that is sure to bring back fond memories of this race each time you wear it. If you are in or near Westport in October, the Jog the Bog and Beach run is a must-do running event.
Grab your friends, family, and spatula for this FUN cooking school! You’ll learn seasonal recipes that are perfect for every holiday, occasion, and skill level that can be made with readily available ingredients. Lots of prizes given away during the show too!

Amanda Park Timberland Library presents Mushroom Hunting for Beginners, 10:30-11:30 a.m., October 17 for adults and teens. An expert mycologist will show you how to get started hunting for mushrooms. She will bring samples of local mushrooms and talk about edible mushrooms and those you should leave behind. For more information call 360-288-2725.

The Elma Chamber of Commerce, along with Elma Businesses invite families to the 17th annual Elma Downtown Trick-or -Treat. Bring your trick or treaters to the Elma Chamber and participating businesses. Enjoy a wagon ride on the Elma Feed Store Shuttle, which will be loading and unloading at the Elma Chamber.

The Elma High School FFA is hosting their annual Hunger Run… or walk to support the EHS food drive, Foodbowl. All profits from this event will go directly to the Elma, McCleary, and Malone food banks. There will be a 5k and 10k race option. Prizes will be awarded to both the male and female race winners as well as the male and female best dressed in a holiday outfit winners. All participants will also receive a free t-shrit (as supplies last). Registration begins at 9:00am on the 12th, route maps will be given out then. Volunteers will be there to assist all the runners at every turn.

The annual Feast for All will be served at the Aberdeen Presbyterian Church located at 4th and Broadway, on Saturday, December 19th from 5:00-6:30 PM. A free full 3 course meal will be prepared and served by members of the church, youth group and youth from Amazing Grace church. The meal is available to anyone in the community who would like to enjoy a nice restaurant style served meal. For more information call 532-1330.
