It changed us in ways still rippling a half-century later. 1968: The Year That Rocked Washington features a collection of online stories and an exhibit at the Washington State Capitol with profiles, compelling photos, and artifacts that document the activism and aftershocks of a landmark year in world history.
Calling all artists and art fans! Village Concepts of Hoquiam – Channel Point Village is hosting a juried Art Show with the theme “Capture the Moment,” exhibiting the creative work of artists from the greater Grays Harbor community. Everyone is welcome! Painters, sculptors, photographers, multimedia artists and others are encouraged to exhibit. Judging categories include Best Use of Theme, Best Use of Color, Fan Favorite, and others. Enjoy a tasting of Wynoochee Wineries wines and music by Ellen Pickell. Embrace the new season at the October Business After Hours hosted by Marni’s Petal Pushers Floral and Gift! This locally owned business in Montesano creates beautiful, one-of-a-kind floral arrangements for all occasions. The storefront also has various plants and gifts available for purchase.
Are you interested in learning more about efforts to address homelessness and affordable housing in our community? A Housing Stakeholder Coalition has been formed and is a platform for education and discussion around pertinent housing issues. The next meeting of this group is scheduled for Tuesday, October 23rd at 9am in the Harbor Room at the Pearsall Building (2109 Sumner Avenue, Aberdeen).

In this workshop we will be covering what you need in place before you are ready to hire, assessing your organization’s culture and best practices when seeking your next team member, what tools and methods can be employed to show them you value them, and how to support your team as a whole when its time for that employee to leave the organization.

What is Business After Hours? Each month, a business or organization in the county receives the opportunity to host this event and offer locals a chance to meet up with some familiar faces and engage with new community members. The host will have the chance to present the attendees with an introduction to their mission, products, purpose and whatever else they like in their own distinctive manner. This is truly an event unlike any other!
