Gravity Catastrophe, Physics and Comedy @ Aberdeen Timberland Library

Alex Zerbe’s zany new show, “Gravity Catastrophe,” demonstrates basic concepts of physics through the art of juggling. In his wacky way, Zerbe helps kids understand gravity, friction, center of mass and gyroscopic stability. Children will also discover the six simple machines and see the lever, inclined plane and the wheel and axle in action. This event is part of Summer Reading, a Timberland Regional Library districtwide program.

First Thursdays @ City of Hoquiam

Hoquiam businesses are celebrating spring with the “First Thursdays” events continuing into 2014. The result of the event, now in its third year, has been increased foot traffic in downtown, a spike in sales for local businesses, join participating businesses every First Thursday from May through September and enjoy special deals, food, music and local art.
