2016 will herald the 13th year of the Galway Bay’s Celtic Music Feis; celebrating Irish, Scottish, and Celtic Music. From sessions to rock and everything in-between we have over 100 musicians who are a part of over 35 bands flooding Ocean Shores, WA with music, workshops and FUN for six days this October.
The Festival begins the evening of Tuesday, October 18, 2016 and lasts until Sunday, October 23, 2016. An eclectic mix of Irish bands, choirs and dancers hailing from throughout the United States, Canada and, of course, Ireland will be rounding out this year’s entertainment.
In addition to our own Celtic Imports Gift Shop we have an array of Celtic vendors in our vendor village inside the convention center.
There are a limited number of VIP tickets available so buying early is important for those of us who don’t want to miss the festivities at Galway Bay.
The Grays Harbor unit 428 of the American Contract Bridge Association hosts a game every Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. in the Aberdeen Square Building. Partnerships are not guaranteed, but visitors are welcome.

On the third Thursday of each month, The Arc of Grays Harbor offers an informative Parent Support group for parents of kids with developmental disabilities. Contact Charlene at 360-537-7000 for more information.

Grays Harbor College has received final approval for its third Bachelor of Applied Science degree, this one focused on K-8 Teacher Education. Courses will begin next Fall 2017, and students will be offered two pathways, K-8 Practicum or K-8 with Special Education.
An informational session about the Bachelor of Applied Science – Teacher Education (BAS-TE) degree is planned for Thursday, October 20, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Room 4135 of the Schermer Building.

The Historical Seaport’s new Director of Science Education, Christie Barchenger, will speak at the Home Port Restaurant banquet room, 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 20.

Westport Timberland Library presents Boom Times to Hard Times: Grays Harbor in the 1930s, 2-3 p.m., October 22 for adults and teens. Grays Harbor during the 1930s – the Great Depression years – was a very different place. Polson Museum’s John Larson will describe and show photos of what life was like in that era. This is part of Timberland Reads Together, an annual Timberland Regional Library district-wide program. For more information call 360-268-0521.

Join Essentially Yoga for evening yoga this fall. $12 drop-in fee. Class will consist of Vinyasa Flow for the first half, followed by restorative yin postures. Classes are open to all levels. All are welcome!
Class will be held in The Loft at Oyhut Bay, above the Real Estate Office. Oyhut Bay is located at 400 Salmonberry Lane SW, five miles south of downtown Ocean Shores.

The meeting topic this month will be small-scale forestry. Julie Sackett from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will speak to a new opportunity: creating a landscape scale forest stewardship master plan for small forest landowners in the Chehalis Basin. This presentation will interest anyone involved in small-scale forestry, as well as anyone with an interest in water quality and fish and wildlife habitat.

New yoga classes at Oyhut Bay with Vistayoga. Oct 15 and 29 at 9:30-10:30am. $12 drop in or $21 for both classes, cash, check or card accepted. All levels welcome.
