The American Lung Association is hosting our second annual cycling event Reach the Beach Washington on September 29, 2018. This cycling event takes place over a fast and flat course with multiple starting points. 100 miles from Lacey, 88 miles from Olympia, 44 miles from Elma, and 25 miles from Cosmopolis, all ending on the beautiful beach in Westport. There will be rest stops ever 15 miles, with hot lunches and hydration at each stop. There will also be bike mechanics along the route to provide quick fixes to popped tires, chain malfunctions, etc. Once across the finish line, we will celebrate with good food, good drinks, and good company!

Embrace the new season at the October Business After Hours hosted by Marni’s Petal Pushers Floral and Gift! This locally owned business in Montesano creates beautiful, one-of-a-kind floral arrangements for all occasions. The storefront also has various plants and gifts available for purchase.
Please join us for a lively presentation from Doris Reed, Licensed Acupuncturist, owner/operator of Reed Acupuncture in Aberdeen, and Tai Chi instructor at Grays Harbor College, about the health benefits of acupuncture and Tai Chi. Open to the public. Refreshments served.
Channel Point Village Speaker Series – Easy Steps to Fitness with Lisa Kless, Health and Wellness Director, YMCA of Grays Harbor. Refreshments served.
Discover the properties of some healing herbs, including calendula, clove, comfrey, feverfew, ginger, lobelia and yarrow. Participants will learn the infusion process, straining, adding beeswax, and bottling, as well as take home salve samples from this hands-on class. All supplies will be provided. Items will be available for purchase.

In this workshop we will be covering what you need in place before you are ready to hire, assessing your organization’s culture and best practices when seeking your next team member, what tools and methods can be employed to show them you value them, and how to support your team as a whole when its time for that employee to leave the organization.

What is Business After Hours? Each month, a business or organization in the county receives the opportunity to host this event and offer locals a chance to meet up with some familiar faces and engage with new community members. The host will have the chance to present the attendees with an introduction to their mission, products, purpose and whatever else they like in their own distinctive manner. This is truly an event unlike any other!
