High Wind Warning Issued for Parts of Grays Harbor County

A High Wind Warning has been issued for parts of Grays Harbor County.  The areas in the warning are City of Aberdeen to the west. See map below.

HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1:00 a.m. TO  1:00 p.m. PST FRIDAY

* WHAT…South wind 30 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.

* WHERE…North Coast and Central Coast.

* WHEN…From 1:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. PST Friday.

* IMPACTS…Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.  Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
