Submitted by Grays Harbor Community Foundation
In May of 2012, over $130,000 was granted in our community by the Grays Harbor Community Foundation to five school districts to integrate technology into the classrooms. This forum is an opportunity for the recipients of the Technology Initiative grant funding to discuss and share their stories and successes through the initiative process. Those districts have had the opportunity to utilize the upgraded technology and adapt their curriculum to include the digital assets for an entire school year. They have recently shared the results of their work via thorough and overwhelmingly encouraging final reports. Attendees will also be able to watch their work in action via a short video about the purchases that were made by each district, and learn about School Districts’ work in the community. We hope the public will be able to attend to network, share, and learn.
The initial awarding of these funds garnered significant local media attention and we feel it is crucial to update the community on what was accomplished through this work. The Foundation was pleased to hear of the outcomes of the funded projects and feel it is important to share this exciting and positive information with those who have interest in this Initiative and the greater topic of local youth and education work.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, January 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Rotary Log Pavilion (located at 1401 Sargent Blvd. at Morrison Riverfront Park, Aberdeen, WA 98520).
Light refreshments will be provided.
Please RSVP by January 21st to Cari Jewell, Office Manager at the Grays Harbor Community Foundation, at cari@gh-cf.org or 360-532-1600.
