Shawna Myers, coordinator of Coastal Community Action Program’s Employment Service’s Programs, recently recognized Brian Morrill, owner of Game Freaks for outstanding partnership as an employer of people with disabilities. Aaron Chism, manager of Aberdeen’s Burger King was also recognized in June of this year.
Morrill has retained an individual through the employment program for many years and has worked with the program to offer the business for use in community based assessments. Chism has hired multiple individuals with disabilities from CCAP’s supported employment program.
Not only do they provide employment, they and their staff also recognize the value these employees and coworkers bring to the workplace and regularly include them in events as well as recognize them for individual achievements.
Game Freaks retails new and used video games and offers special order items for those looking for something specific. They also specialize in retro and vintage games as well. Game Freaks is partnered with PLAYlive to offer live gaming in high-end gaming stations onsite. Not only do they specialize in games – they offer a very large variety of games, puzzles, toys, models and more for people of all ages. Burger King is a locally-owned franchise and is located at 620 E. Heron St. in Aberdeen. It can also be reached at 360-533-2176. There is a second restaurant located in Elma at Eagle’s Landing as well.
