The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Wind Advisory for the coast from Thursday, January 11, afternoon through Thursday night.
Southeast winds will increase to 20-35 mph sustained gusting to 45 mph. Rain will be heavy at times.
Coastal areas most affected by the winds are Westport, Ocean Shores, Pacific Beach, Taholah, Hoquiam & Aberdeen.
The Chehalis River will rise sharply Saturday into Sunday, but forecasts of cresting at 19.6 feet indicate it will remain below flood stage at Porter (21 feet).
Be extremely cautious driving due to heavy rainfall and the possibility of ponding of water on roadways.
Be prepared for possible local power outages.
