Grays Harbor Traffic: SR 109 in Hoquiam Reopens

Submitted by Washington State Department of Transportation

There is good news for travelers who use State Route 109 in Hoquiam. At 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 29, Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews re-opened the highway at milepost 2 to all travelers.

State and city crews closed the highway on Wednesday, January 22 after more debris broke loose from the rain-saturated hillside.

Over the past week, crews removed debris from the top of the hill, and placed roadway barrier along the shoulder. The barrier is intended help prevent additional debris from entering the roadway.

WSDOT would like to thank travelers for their continued patience while crews worked to stabilize the hillside.

Advance notification of maintenance, construction, and other work on state highways is available at WSDOT’s construction and travel updates web page.
