Each year, the holiday season makes us more generous. As we give to family and friends, most of us are reminded to also give to those that are less fortunate. In Grays Harbor County we have some amazing nonprofits and organizations that make sure your gifts, whether in kind or cash, stay right here, doing good locally. Here are a few places to give locally in Grays Harbor this holiday season.
Salvation Army Bell Ringers
It just wouldn’t be the holiday season with out the Salvation Army Bell Ringers. Based in Aberdeen, they will be out at various locations throughout the holidays. You can also donate on the Salvation Army Aberdeen website. All monies collected help with local issues including hunger, poverty, child education, addiction, disaster relief, help for senior citizens and more.

Grays Harbor Child Advocates
The Grays Harbor Child Advocates is part of the larger Washington Association of Child Advocate Programs. According to their website, “advocates investigate case facts, recommend a course of action to the court, facilitate the resolution of problems, and monitor progress towards establishing permanency for the child.” To donate, go to the WACAP website and choose “Grays Harbor” for the local program.
Grays Harbor Historical Seaport
If preserving history and creating educational opportunities is something you’d like to support, consider giving to the Grays Harbor Historical Seaport. This holiday season, you can support them by attending their virtual fundraising event on December 3. Or make a donation anytime on the Grays Harbor Historical Seaport website.
Grays Harbor Community Foundation
The Grays Harbor Community Foundation helps other nonprofits in the area succeed in their missions by providing grants.
