Join the South Beach Buccaneers as they welcome Santa to the South Beach. Santa arrives at the Westport Marina at 10:30 a.m. and is escorted to the Lens Building at the Maritime Museum by enthusiastic children and the Westport Fire Department. Visit Santa, have your photo taken and play with the pirates in the Lecture Hall. Jingle Jam is a free event for the whole family! Come join Grace Harbor Covenant and get free pictures with Santa, make cool Christmas crafts, have fun taking a “winter selfie,” enjoy delicious cookies and decorate your own! It’s a great time to get together in our community and spread joy this season! It’s from 1pm-4pm and completely free!

The annual Feast for All will be served at the Aberdeen Presbyterian Church located at 4th and Broadway, on Saturday, December 19th from 5:00-6:30 PM. A free full 3 course meal will be prepared and served by members of the church, youth group and youth from Amazing Grace church. The meal is available to anyone in the community who would like to enjoy a nice restaurant style served meal. For more information call 532-1330.

Beachcombing For All Ages will be presented by marine biologist Alan Rammer. This class is open to all ages and is free to attend. Those attending are encouraged to bring their best beach finds for analysis and conversation with Rammer.
Rammer is co-author of the book Glass Fishing Floats of the World. He is retired from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and is a graduate from the University of Washington with a degree in Shellfish Biology and Invertebrate Zoology. Alan’s enthusiasm for the beach is only eclipsed by his gift as an educator. Rammer was the recipient of the 2012 National Marine Educator of the Year award.
The resort’s tasting room, gift shop, restaurant, bakery, nursery and gardens are open daily from 11 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (With the last dinner seating at 6:30 p.m. daily.) Guests are welcome to enjoy lunch during this lecture.
The annual auction is Rotary’s primary fundraising activity of the year and the proceeds fund the Aberdeen Rotary Club Foundation for scholarships, community grants and youth activities.
The evening begins with a hosted cocktail hour and silent auctions at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m. with the live auction following. This year’s auctioneers are Gary Morean and Vini Samuel. Some of the auction items include a hot air balloon ride for two over greater Seattle and Eastside area plus two nights at the famous Cottage Lake Tree House named “The Nest” designed by HG TV’s Tree House Masters host Pete Nelson; a 55″ LG 4k LED Ultra High Def Smart TV; entertainment and hotel packages including: prime seats for A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder at the Fifth Avenue Theatre; tickets to the Billy Joel concert on May 20, 2016; tickets to Motown – the Musical at the Paramount.
Funds raised by the auction are distributed by the Aberdeen Rotary Club Foundation to local scholarship opportunities for students, community needs such as United Way and YMCA, sponsorship of Aberdeen Rotary Business Week at Aberdeen High School, the Aberdeen Rotary Homeless Youth Education Fund, annual distribution of dictionaries to fourth graders in all Aberdeen and Cosmopolis elementary schools. Past projects have included the A. J. West Playground, improvements to the GH Community Hospital, and the Aberdeen Rotary Log Pavilion built by Rotarians and donated to the City of Aberdeen. The club is part of Rotary International with 1.2 million members around the world.
Kids Day will include; Mechanical bull rides for all kids ages 16 and under, Bouncy Houses, Balloon art by Professor Bamboozle, face painting, gold mining, trike races, steer roping, and kids can make their own “saddle bag snacks” to take with them, and games. This is also a great time to get your kids signed up for the stick horse races during the rodeo. The first 200 kids, under 10 years old will take home their very own stick horse after the races. Bring your cell phone or camera for photo opportunities!

The annual Home and Garden Show at the Grays Harbor Fairgrounds in Elma features local home and garden experts and a delightful variety of plants of all kinds from nurseries. Shop, ask questions, compare products, and get gardening and remodeling ideas all in one convenient location. This annual two-day event is sponsored by the WSU Master Gardeners of Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties, who troubleshoot problems at the plant clinic and give short presentations. There are great activities for kids, too. New this year: the monthly Indoor Swap Meet joins the show. Free admission.
Children and their families are invited to enjoy the festivities at the McCleary Timberland Library for the Bear Festival. The suggested dress code is royal finery suitable to meet the princess. There will be stories, crafts, games and treats.
Refreshments are provided by the Bear Festival Royalty Committee. Prizes are provided by the Friends of the McCleary Timberland Library
All Timberland Regional Library programs are free and open to the public.

All Kids who are ages 7 to 16 years old (by June 15) are invited to audition for 7th Street Kids’ production of “The Little Mermaid.” No prior experience is required. Kids who audition must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who must fill out and sign forms before auditions. Kids will be taught a short song and dance to perform for the directors at auditions. Approximately 50 Kids will be cast for the musical.

The Beach Volleyball Tournament is hosted by the AVA Volleyball Association and will run from Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. through Sunday evening. This Grand Slam tournament will showcase juniors, adult, and professional volleyball players from all over the region. This will be exciting to watch as they compete for prize money equaling $10K! Come early, bring beach chairs, and spend your day on the sand!
The Beginner’s Fun 4s tournament will be on Saturday and Sunday. Non-pro, co-ed adult teams of 4 people. 100% of the money raised from registration fees of the Beginner’s 4s ($100 per team) will go to support Grays Harbor Community Hospital. You will get 4 t-shirts for your team with registration fee. Please see the AVA website for links on how to sign your team up and tournament details. REGISTER HERE.

Races will start around 11:00 a.m. , so try and get all registered before 11:00 a.m. Prizes for fastest lady runner, fastest gentleman runner, and overall quickest to the finish line will be given. Everyone will get a participation ribbon also.

This cast of 53 amazingly talented singers and dancers, aged 7-16 will have you singing along to “Under the Sea,” “Part of Your World,” “Kiss the Girl,” and more as Ariel, played by Chaela Watkins, transforms from mermaid to human. Even Ursula, brought to life by Kendall Cavin, can’t conjure a spell to destroy true love!
