2017 will herald the 14th year of the Galway Bay Celtic Music Festival, celebrating Irish songs, ballads, players and bands. An eclectic mix of Irish bands, choirs and dancers hailing from throughout the United States, Canada and, of course, Ireland will be rounding out this year’s entertainment.
Minors are allowed at the Convention Center, but not at Galway Bay or 8th Street. Children under 12 Are Free.

All Grays Harbor area nonprofits and school districts that fit within our Giving Priorities are eligible to apply for a small grant. Grants are available for requests of $5,000 and below. Small Grant requests might include small scale technology needs, items for shelters or housing programs, food purchases for feeding programs, educational supplies for early learning or schools, small renovation or improvement projects, capacity building, etc. Organizations that are awarded small grants are still eligible to apply for our twice annual Community Building Grants program. The Fall Grays Harbor Symphony Concert is titled Música Latino Sinfonía. It will feature orchestral music from Latin America, including: Danzon No. 2, by Marquez; El Salón México, by Copland; Huapango, by Moncayo; and Rhumba from the Latin American Symphony, by Gould. Featured on the bassoon will be Stephanie Octave performing the Ciranda das sete notas, by Villa-Lobos.

Some Love Songs is a two day event featuring local and out of town musicians. Take your family, loved one, or just yourself out and check out a semi-Valentine’s Day themed night. Friday Night at the Aberdeen Eagles features rock, country and blues bands for all you hard and fast lovers. Sunday afternoon at The Garage: Music and Arts Center features singer/songwriter and jazz for you more gentle and sensual lovers.
Both events are all ages. Bring your friends and support local music, and love (if that’s your thing).

This workshop will cover a host of renewable energy topics including solar electric, solar thermal, wind, anaerobic digestion, and in-line hydropower. It will provide information on how to get grant writing assistance, receive available utility incentives, tax subsidies and financing for farmers and rural business owners who wish to purchase renewable energy equipment. The USDA Renewable Energy For America Program (REAP) grant deadline is March 31, 2018.
