Ain’t It A Pretty Night: Opera in English @ Bishop Center for Performing Arts

Members of Grays Harbor College’s new Opera Workshop perform for the first time on Friday evening, January 27, at the Bishop Center. Formed last Fall, the vocal performance is entitled “Ain’t It A Pretty Night: Opera in English,” featuring arias, choruses and scenes from timeless American and British operas.  All tickets are $5, available at the Bishop Center door prior to the concert.
Joy and Ian Dorsch direct the Opera Workshop and Kira Theine accompanies the group. Soloists for the Friday performance include Alexa Amarok, Michael Amendola, Adam Cooper, Kendra Gross, Analei Holt, Keola Holt, Katya Lohngoen, Ken McDonald, Jerrod Phelps, Jasmin Torres, Andrea Vingo and Jeremy Wright.  Workshop vocalists from both the College and the community will perform excerpts from Floyd’s “Susannah,” Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Pirates of Penzance,” Copeland’s “The Tender Land,” Barber’s “Vanessa” and Menotti’s “The Old Maid and the Thief.”

Johnny B.’s Rhythm of the North @ Seabrook Town Hall

In a tandem performance with The Bishop Center in Aberdeen, Seabrook presents Johnny B.

A pianist who weaves stories, familiar melodies and original pieces into an uptempo, entertaining, and moving piano program.  His program is filled with beautiful composition along with some of the hottest boogie-woogie you’ll ever hear!

Grays Harbor Relay For Life @ Immanuel Baptist Church

Our theme this year is “Super Heroes”, and we are inviting our Survivors to our annual free Survivor Social. All Survivors and their family/friends are encouraged to come join us as we celebrate our Survivor Super Heroes!

At the Social we will serve them breakfast. There will be live entertainment, guest speakers, an opportunity for Survivors to share their stories, and lots of good fellowship and love.

Survivors will receive their 2017 Survivor t-shirt, and will be able to register for this year’s Relay For Life at the Survivor Social. Pre-registration allows them to go straight to the table at Relay on June 2nd to receive their 2017 Survivor medal, without having to stand in line.

Habitat for Humani-Tea @ Seabrook Town Hall

We will host the 3rd annual ladies Habitat for Humani-Tea in the town hall to benefit our local Habitat for Humanity non-profit organization. Each year, Seabrook Community Foundation grants money to this organization to do the good work they do in our community. The ladies tea is a celebration of that work and also a way to increase fundraising beyond what the SCF grant money can accomplish.

You will enjoy tea, great food, great company, live music, a mimosa bar, dessert auction, and fabulous guest speakers!

Annual Garden Tour @ Grays Harbor County

The 2017 Annual Garden Tour features five delightful gardens a short drive away in the Raymond area of Pacific County. Choose your own starting point, and visit all or as many gardens as you want. This is a self-guided tour. All proceeds benefit the WSU Master Gardener educational program of Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties.

Mighty Alliance and Grays Harbor Youth Football Camp and Golf Tournament Fundraiser @ Quinault Beach Resort & Casino
