During Advent, Saron Lutheran Church will host an exhibition of visual art and writing that responds to the quiet, anticipatory aspects of the season. This show, “Out of Darkness,” showcases art and poetry which sets a reflective mood, serving as a place of rest and deeper contemplation in the midst of the hectic and sometimes superficial rush of holiday bustle.
The exhibit will run November 22 – December 21. The public is invited to take a break from holiday shopping and stop by during special open hours on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., and Sundays from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
An opening reception, complete with music, refreshments, and readings. Come see these creative, personal interpretations of what “Out of Darkness” can mean.
At the Library, 3rd Saturday each month-a Family Movie Matinee. Popcorn and one of two (or both!) showings. Sponsored by the Friends of the Elma Timberland Library.

Join us for the groundbreaking for the Ocosta Elementary School, the first vertical evacuation tsunami engineered building in North America.
The new Ocosta Elementary School building will be the first building in North America to include the engineering to withstand the effects of earthquakes and tsunami while providing a safe haven for all students, teachers and staff of the school as well as citizens who flee there during tsunami warnings. The school should be completed by late fall of this year.
Bring your current DIY arts project and network with other creative folks after hours in the library. Join us whether your thing is knitting or calligraphy, crocheting or embroidery, or anything in between. Swap stories and tips from past successes or failures. Enjoy refreshments, courtesy of the Friends of the Aberdeen Timberland Library. Plan to enter before the library closes at 7 p.m. Services will not be available after the library closes.
