This is an educational program presented by Gregory D. Bell, MD who is a Parkinson’s Disease specialist from Olympia. You’ll learn more about PD and current treatments. Northwest Spay and Neuter Center, Washington’s largest non-profit high-quality spay and neuter clinic, now offers free transportation for your pet to and from our state-of-the-art clinic in Tacoma! No residency restrictions, and financial assistance may be available.
How does it work? Our dedicated employees collect scheduled patients (cats and dogs) at a prearranged location. Patients are driven to our clinic in a safe, climate-controlled vehicle for surgery. They recover overnight and are returned to the same location the following morning. We accept pet cats and dogs and feral cats in traps on our shuttle!
Every fourth Friday of the month, Summit Pacific Medical Center gives a warm welcome to the community as they arrive to learn about the month’s topic, watch a cooking demonstration and enjoy a healthy dinner.
Each class is free, with no RSVP required, features a guest speaker and of course, dinner!

This is your opportunity to learn more and ask any questions you may have about learning standards and assessments in our state.

To help ensure all students are ready for success after high school, the Common Core State Standards were established. Washington’s K – 12 learning standards are aligned to the Common Core State Standards and provide clear, consistent guidelines for what every student should know and be able to do in math and English Language Arts from kindergarten through 12th grade. The Smarter Balanced assessment system, which is aligned to the new standards, provides a way for teachers to measure student progress on those standards throughout the year and make adjustments and interventions as necessary to ensure students are on the pathway to success. The assessments are administered in grades 3 – 8 and 11.
