Come out to Rokfest 6, the annual music event to raise funds for the South Pacific County Humane Society! Local Harbor favorite band Six Pack Pretty will play 80’s cover tunes, with Woodland,WA-based band Stiffler opening. All proceeds go to help animals in need! Admission is free, with donations accepted.
Fantastic prizes will be raffled off throughout the evening, all for a great cause.

Jeremy Kittel is an American fiddler, violinist, and composer. Fluent in multiple genres, his original music draws from traditional roots, jazz, Celtic, classical, eletronic, and more. He has composed and arranged for artists Jars of Clay, Yo-Yo Ma, and the Silk Road Ensemble. The Trio appeared in “Prairie Home Companion,” in addition to their frequent tours. Grays Harbor College has received final approval for its third Bachelor of Applied Science degree, this one focused on K-8 Teacher Education. Courses will begin next Fall 2017, and students will be offered two pathways, K-8 Practicum or K-8 with Special Education.
An informational session about the Bachelor of Applied Science – Teacher Education (BAS-TE) degree is planned for Thursday, October 20, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Room 4135 of the Schermer Building.

The opening reception for the community’s annual Fall Gala art exhibit is slated for Friday, November 4, at the Spellman Library gallery on the Grays Harbor College campus in Aberdeen. The reception is planned from 6 to 8 p.m. This is the 24th annual Fall exhibit by the group of area artists.
Participating Harbor artists include Kathryn Cotnoir, Matthew Coyle, Julie Daniels, Ken Hunt, Kimmi Kerns, Brent Knott, Susan LaMadrid, Loni Lou LaQuill, Carrie L. Larson, Joan Lohr, Roy Lowry, Bev King Lufkin, Ivy M. Moyer, Douglas Orr, Brenda S. Peterson, Erik Sandgren, Ed Schroll, Barb Shillinger, Cara Beth Stevenson, Andrea Vingo, Ron Westman and Nathan Whorton.
The exhibit may also be viewed through December 9 during regular library hours, which are Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursdays until 6 p.m., Fridays until 4:30 p.m.; and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Fresh off of their first European Tour, catch Portland’s Fox and Bones live at Seabrook Town Hall.
Fox and Bones is a conceptual folk collaboration between American songwriters Sarah Vitort and Scott Gilmore based in Portland, Oregon. Both artists in their own rite (Sarah Wild and The Watch, Just People), the pair had an instant spark when they met, which quickly translated to an electric songwriting chemistry. The duo combines lush two part harmonies and a complex, heartwarming lyrical landscape with soft-spoken yet rich musical accompaniment. Live, they draw their audience in with their quirky banter and adorable onstage chemistry, creating – and inspiring in their fans – an archetype for true love in the modern world.
