Elma Chamber of Commerce is hosting “Meet the Candidates” luncheon, featuring candidates running for positions on the ballot for East County. The public is invited to join us at noon, Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Stay Beyond Inn & Suites conference center in Elma.
The luncheon will begin with candidates introducing themselves and sharing why they want to run for the office and their qualifications. Public may ask questions of candidates following all introductions. Candidates expected to attend are those running for Grays Harbor Commissioner, State Senator Legislative District 19 & 24, Grays Harbor Superior Court Judge, P.U.D. Commissioner and District Court #1.

Grays Harbor College has received final approval for its third Bachelor of Applied Science degree, this one focused on K-8 Teacher Education. Courses will begin next Fall 2017, and students will be offered two pathways, K-8 Practicum or K-8 with Special Education.
An informational session about the Bachelor of Applied Science – Teacher Education (BAS-TE) degree is planned for Thursday, October 20, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Room 4135 of the Schermer Building.

The Elma Chamber of Commerce, along with Elma Businesses invite families to the 18th annual Elma Downtown Trick or Treat on Monday, October 31st. Bring your trick or treaters from 3:00 – 6:00 PM to the Elma Chamber and participating businesses. Enjoy a wagon ride on the Elma Feed Store shuttle, which will be loading and unloading at the Elma Chamber.

Ring the holiday season in with lights and cheer as Oyhut Bay hosts its First Annual Festival of Lights! Join Oyhut Bay’s developers, homeowners and resort team on Saturday, December 3, at 5:00 p.m. for a lighting ceremony featuring a nine-foot Christmas tree and festive holiday decorations. Sing holiday carols and enjoy hot cocoa, sparkling cider and sweet treats.
Oyhut Bay is also holding a toy drive for the Union Gospel Mission and Friendship House in Aberdeen.
