The Grays Harbor Stream Team, Clean Streams and Meme, and GHC Fish Lab are hosting a Wilson Creek Clean Up. We will be meeting at the Aberdeen Log Pavilion @ 9 AM! Come out and help keep clean up our watershed!

Montesano United Church will be performing their Cantata on December 11 at 7 pm at the church at 401 East Spruce. The Cantata is the final event of the annual Festival of Lights.
One way to re-visit what Aberdeen might have been like during the Holidays on the 1900’s is to enjoy a tour of a local Victorian Mansion. Feel the warmth of the twinkling lights that adorn the outside of the three-story mansion, accompanied by several beautifully decorated Christmas trees and decorations filling every corner of the home. Tours offered December 15, 22 and 29 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Owners Al and Joan Waters welcome guests in Victorian themed costumes to set the stage while leading the tours of the classic manor. The finale to the tour is hot spiced cider and cookies in the formal dining area full of local history.

Fresh off of their first European Tour, catch Portland’s Fox and Bones live at Seabrook Town Hall.
Fox and Bones is a conceptual folk collaboration between American songwriters Sarah Vitort and Scott Gilmore based in Portland, Oregon. Both artists in their own rite (Sarah Wild and The Watch, Just People), the pair had an instant spark when they met, which quickly translated to an electric songwriting chemistry. The duo combines lush two part harmonies and a complex, heartwarming lyrical landscape with soft-spoken yet rich musical accompaniment. Live, they draw their audience in with their quirky banter and adorable onstage chemistry, creating – and inspiring in their fans – an archetype for true love in the modern world.
The Town Hall bar will be open for those over 21, all ages welcome, doors will open at 6:30PM.

What to expect: planting native plants along the Chehalis River; restoring previous planting efforts; some invasive removal; a winters day among friends; great birding opportunities.
What to bring: lunch and your preferred gloves. We have all the equipment needed and some gloves to spare!

We are kicking 2017 off with a spectacular event featuring Syncline Winery and Guest Chefs from The Willow Restaurant in Portland. The Willow was voted the Best New Restaurant by Willamette Week’s reader poll in 2016. Chefs John Pickett and Doug Weiler, owners of Willow, will be pairing 5 courses with wines picked by Syncline winemaker and General Manager, James & Poppi Mantone who will be presenting the wines and information about their winery at the dinner. The North Beach is celebrating a Decade of Decadence with “Death by Chocolate” at the 10th Annual Chocolate on the Beach Festival! Chocolate recipe contests, chocolate demonstrations, local chocolate food & drink contests and on Saturday and Sunday chocolatiers and craft vendors.

This festival is dedicated to all things “razor clam.” The razor clam chowder restaurant contest is perhaps the most popular of the festival events. The judging is done by both the public and by professional chefs. The amateur razor clam chowder cook-off draws dozens of folks showing their “razor clam chowder” skills and is judged by professional chefs as well as 2016 amateur winners, in this case a team including Tyson and Annelise Diers from NewCastle and Nick and Katie Harmston. Visitors are likely to be able to taste some other restaurant seafood specialties as well. Wine and food pairing demonstrations was also very popular last year and likely to be very busy again. This year, there will be cooking demonstrations on the Main Stage to peak your interest. Tickets will be for sale to enjoy “Foods From Around the World” and wine during the demonstrations.
For those visiting that like shopping to go with their food tasting, nearly six dozen vendors will offer everything from jams and jelly to jewelry and lamps and more. Pirates providing treasures for adults and kids alike are always a hit with the visitors. Games for the kids at the festival always make for great memories.
