Come join the Grays Harbor Mounted Posse for their Gaming Buckle Series. Events take place at the Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds Indoor Arena in Elma, November 4th & 5th at 9am. Events include: Poles, 2-barrel flags, Figure 8, Cal Stack, Key Race, and Barrels. Age divisions are: Pee Wee/8 and under, Junior /3rd.-5th grade, Intermediate/6th- 8th grade, Senior/ 9th.-12th grade, S. Senior/ 19.-34yrs old and Old Timers/35 and over. Cost to participate is just $25 for the day plus $5 arena fee. We offer a $5 discount for 4H or Equestrian team members. Events also include sorting, 2-man ranch and 3-man arena. Memorial Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. Parade at 1:00 p.m. Enjoy covered seating and an announcer, located on Third and Main Street at the Elma Visitors Station. Three prizes for parade entries are being offered: Most Patriotic Entry $100; Judges Choice $50; and Most Creative $25. The 98520 Music and Arts District Initiative is hosting a Benefit Concert for The Garage: Music and Arts Center featuring live music from Lisa Ramsauer, Donna Albert, Corey Morris & Geoffrey Hirschfeld. All ages welcome.

The downtown shops will be open and most are participating. The participating stores will offer a free drawing – just go into each store and fill in a drawing ticket. Drawing will be held on Saturday after 3:00 p.m.

WinterFest continues! Beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the D & R Event Center on So. I St., Aberdeen children up to age 12 can have Breakfast with Santa for free (donation for adults); Pictures with Santa (by the GH Hospital Foundation – $10 per picture); free crafts for kids; letters to Santa;
New this year: Holiday Market with 35+ vendors at the former Goldberg’s Furniture Store – 117 W. Wishkah St., Aberdeen – 10:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Downtown shops will be open – free drawing items at all participating stores, including the Holiday Market. Stop by each store and enter the drawings – winners will be notified after 3:00 p.m.
Also new this year – we are partnering with the Grays Harbor Historical Seaport! Activities will begin over there at 2:00 pm on Saturday. They will have their new gift shop open, PAWS will be there to take picture of pets with Santa as well as many other activities.

In 2008, one of the great modern explorers of the world’s oceans, Dr. Robert Ballard, formed the Ocean Exploration Trust with a goal of making oceanic explorations accessible to the public over the internet. The flagship of this Trust is the E/V Nautilus, and it carries two Remotely Operated Vehicles. A grant allowed for four days of exploration by these vehicles in the Quinault Canyon off the shores of Washington State, where they mapped ocean floor terrain, sampled for ocean acidification, and looked at methane seeps and deep water organisms. Joe Schumacker and Olympic National Marine Sanctuary coordinated with the ship during this time, and in this presentation Joe will share information, photos, and video footage.

Sunergy Systems, an employee-owned solar installer, will be presenting a free solar educational workshop in Hoquiam. This free solar workshop, known as “Solar U”, will cover a host of solar-focused topics like how solar plays a role in solving our country’s energy issues, how solar works and how it works specifically in the Pacific Northwest. They will learn about how solar reduces environmental impact all while increasing a home’s resale value, and just what makes a good site for solar. In addition, attendees will learn all about the WA State Incentive Program, the 30% Federal Tax Credit and Net Metering available for solar customers.

The UFO/Paranormal Summit is an annual research conference in Grays Harbor Washington. It is held at the Quinault Beach Resort & Casino in Ocean Shores and features the most respected researchers.
We feature the worlds most renowned researchers in the UFO and Paranormal worlds as well as new researchers as they present their evidence, theories and information. For all ages. For more information, read here.

This workshop will cover a host of renewable energy topics including solar electric, solar thermal, wind, anaerobic digestion, and in-line hydropower. It will provide information on how to get grant writing assistance, receive available utility incentives, tax subsidies and financing for farmers and rural business owners who wish to purchase renewable energy equipment. The USDA Renewable Energy For America Program (REAP) grant deadline is March 31, 2018.

The Quilt Show will feature a Vintage Quilt Display, and there is no charge to display a quilt, and all quilters entering a quilt will receive one free show pass. Quilts need to be brought to the Fairgrounds Wed. Feb 14 or Thurs. Feb 15 from 2 – 6pm.
Also, if you are hungry during the quilt show, the fairgrounds concession will be open
