GraysHarborTalk Writers Share Why They Love the Digital Media Site

What does it mean to share stories about your community? To GraysHaborTalk writers, the answer is simple.

“I love writing for GraysHarborTalk because of the connection to the community,” says sports writer Gail Wood. “Through GraysHarborTalk, I get to talk with people in the community and share their stories. Each story is an opportunity to bring attention to a person’s accomplishment, giving the community an opportunity to say ‘nice job’ or ‘thank you.’”

GraysHarborTalk writers all live, work, and play in the community. These paid, professional writers are your neighbors. They tell stories, on a daily basis, about our community.

“It is a rewarding feeling knowing I am helping shine light on local people and places that illustrate why this community is so incredible,” says Community Manager, Kurtis Dawson.

“I have the freedom to use my voice, pitch a story, research sources and connect with interesting people, who live, work and travel through Grays Harbor County,” says writer Lisa Shell.

“The team at NorthAmericaTalk is capturing the local essence of traditional media, and forging new relationships using today’s social media,” she continues referencing the link to a Western Washington media company.

Before joining the freelance writing team, GraysHarborTalk writers submit a writing sample, attend an interview, and are then invited to pitch story ideas. “Because our article ideas are generated by our writers, they are a solid reflection of the community,” explains Editor, Amy Rowley.
