The Aberdeen Rotary Club has announced Daniel Elrod as the March Student of the Month. Daniel is a trained lifeguard who has had to put his skills to test in in emergency situations.  He also has served as a camp counselor, working with youth to learn life skills.  Daniel has played basketball all four years at Aberdeen High School. He is a Foodball and school blood drive volunteer. As a sophomore, Daniel was recognized for a People’s Choice Award at his school. His post plans for further education are to serve in the United States Marine Corps and attend college.

Each year the Rotary Club of Aberdeen honors Aberdeen High School Seniors through the Student of the Month recognition and scholarship program. One senior is recognized each month October through May. Two of these eight students are then selected in June for either the $1000 “Blue” or $2000 “Gold” scholarship to the school of their choice.
