Grays Harbor College’s Theatre Arts Department is holding community-wide auditions for the next production, Ten-Minute Play Festival.
Auditions will begin at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10 and at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 11 at the Bishop Center on the college campus. No advanced preparation is required for the audition.
Rehearsals will begin Monday, April 15 and the festival will be presented May 9, 10 and 11 at the Bishop Center.
The festival will feature talented student playwrights presenting their original short plays, which as the title suggests, will be about ten minutes in length. The Festival will include plays written this Winter quarter in English 243, “Playwriting,” and in conjunction with the Creative Writing student group. Students were asked to craft stories they wanted to bring to life, and the final products will showcase a range of compelling themes and narratives.
At the auditions, producer Andrew Gaines will be seeking men and women ages 16 to 80 to help perform the student plays. The 10-minute plays will be performed and directed by a combination of students, alumni, faculty, and community members.
