This is the 26th year of the ride, which happens rain or shine (usually shine!). The funds raised by this activity are used to assist members of the Quinault/Neilton/Amanda Park area who are diagnosed with cancer or have some other catastrophic illness or life event. The funds can be used for gas money, meals, lodging and more. Funds can also be used to assist when a resident experiences a different catastrophic event like a house fire or serious accident.
The ride is non-competitive, un-timed, and appropriate for all ages, and is a very popular event with lots of riders who return every year. Helmets are required. It starts and ends at the Lake Quinault School in Amanda Park. The route goes from the school to North Shore Road, up to the Park bridge and back down the South Shore Road and back to the school. The route is approximately 30 miles, with half being paved roadway and the other half well-packed gravel. Riders get to experience the beautiful Quinault valley in it’s full glory, with beautiful views, wildlife sightings and lots of fresh air to enjoy. There are comfort stations at 2 spots along the route which provide bathroom facilities, snacks and water. “Sag wagons” patrol the route as well, ready to offer assistance or a ride to anyone in need.
