A get together of local history and memorabilia. Hotel Emerson was opened in April 1924 and will be 93years old on the 30th of the month. Stop in and tour the lobby and what is now the Hoquiam Senior Center, which was a part of original hotel building.
Several local buildings will be represented at this event.
To date the following have made a commitment to attend and share the time relating stories of the buildings and history of Hoquiam events.
Their will also be several Hoquiam Memorabilia Collectors attending and sharing stories and their memorabilia of local historic events. Bring your stories and memorabilia and share. Please contact me if you would like to participate.

What gives us a sense of place and belonging on the Harbor? Participate in a community mapping project to tell your story of what makes the Harbor…home. To participate, visit here to add to our online map or pick up a mapping kit at the Hoquiam Library beginning on Saturday, April 15.
We will compile community contributions from the mapping activity into a self-guided tour. The link to the tour will be available online or pick up a paper copy at the Hoquiam Library.
Join us for a reception at the Polson Museum on April 29 at 2:30 p.m. to discuss insights and perspectives sparked by the activity and learn about other historic walking tours in the area.

Origins. Remnants. Renaissance. Peel back the layers of meaning of places and spaces of special significance to the Harbor region’s identity along a self-guided tour. Then, join us for a reception at the Polson Museum with local historians and discussions of insights and perspectives sparked by the tour. Tour guides and information will be available on April 29 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Hoquiam Library.

Annual Norwegian Independence Day Parade will begin at Dorothy Anderson Cabin and parade around town. Traditional clothing encouraged!
Parade will end at Meriweather Street with an ice cream social.
We will host the 3rd annual ladies Habitat for Humani-Tea in the town hall to benefit our local Habitat for Humanity non-profit organization. Each year, Seabrook Community Foundation grants money to this organization to do the good work they do in our community. The ladies tea is a celebration of that work and also a way to increase fundraising beyond what the SCF grant money can accomplish.
You will enjoy tea, great food, great company, live music, a mimosa bar, dessert auction, and fabulous guest speakers!

STEM is not just for kids! Explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math with a variety of tech toys. Play with Ozobots, build a LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robot, and learn some basic coding. We’ll supply the toys, but bring your smartphone to try out Virtual Reality with Google Cardboard!
The Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties Master Gardeners will hold a free plant clinic. Guests are invited to bring a planter or pot with soil as they receive assistance from the master gardeners on how to create a quaint and cute fairy garden. Reservations are not required.
All attendees will receive a 10% discount on plants. All ages are welcome. Folks are also welcome to bring random plant and gardening questions to get advice from the master gardeners.
The nursery at the winery has a nice array of plants including perennials, shrubs, trees and fruits. All herb starts, vegetables, baskets, planters and annuals are 40% off.
A chance to show our patriotic spirit. The parade features more than 75 entries and a Grand Marshall. One of the only Flag Day parades in Western Washington.

Nerds, assemble! Talk about games, manga, comics and all things nerdy.
Creature Teachers brings an assortment of exotic animals to educate people on the wonders of nature and spark a passion for wildlife. This event is part of Summer Reading, a Timberland Regional Library district-wide program.
