Come join us on the Maritime Museum Grounds for Westport’s Annual Seafood Festival, Fun Arts and Crafts, and Live Music. Seafood pro’s will be cooking up salmon, whitefish and oysters, plus shrimp cocktails, corn on the cob, salads and garlic bread. Want just a bite? Enjoy a hot dog or clam chowder. Beer & wine also available.

This interactive, hands-on workshop will cover board responsibilities, operations, development, fundraising, and advocacy. It is based on the Boards in Gear resources developed in partnership with some of our state’s leading board experts. You will leave with concrete action steps, tools, and connections.
This workshop is designed for board members and the people who work with them, namely executive directors and program staff. It offers ideas for new board members and those who have served for a long time. It is appropriate for organizations of all sizes, whether they have staff or not.
Join us for the third annual “Harvest by the Sea”, a benefit dinner honoring Coastal Harvest. The evening starts off with Cocktail Hour at 6:00 pm featuring beer brewed right here in the harbor by Steam Donkey Brewing Company and a wine paring poured by GH Wine Sellars. As you are enjoying a selection of delicious appetizers, entertainment will be provided by Ericka Corban, as seen on “The Voice”. Dinner will be catered by Mill 109 and served at 7:00 pm. The evening will wrap up with a “Desert Auction” where you will have the opportunity to select from a variety of cakes, cupcakes, pies and much more made specially for this event.
The cost of the ticket covers entry into a door prize drawing, live entertainment, non-alcoholic drinks, and a large German themed meal. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.
All money raised will be used to help our neighbors in the Grays Harbor community. Projects include expanding 1st Presbyterian’s facility into a larger community garden, purchasing hygiene and school items for distribution by local churches and nonprofits, other assistance for families and neighbors in need, and funding Saron’s new monthly after school and free dinner program. Expert speaker, Dr. Cyndi Romine (founder of Called To Rescue) will teach prevention, share facts & statistics, and help attendees understand the truths of what is happening throughout WA and the world. The festival also features a popular cook-off, hands-on water quality exhibits, and is itself a giant a food pavilion with nearly 100 unique items on the menu: BBQ oysters, fritters, spring rolls, garlic shrimp, fresh cider and so much more. Better yet, your culinary adventure supports about 100 local non-profit service clubs and organizations, as well as funding scholarships and local community improvement projects.

Interested in learning more about efforts to address homelessness and affordable housing in our community? A Housing Stakeholder Coalition has been formed and is a platform for education and discussion around pertinent housing issues.
The October meeting will include:
- Update from Union Gospel Mission on their remodel and new day services
- Update on new High Intensity Behavioral Health programs coming online in Grays Harbor and potential impact to housing services
- Budget recap: current impacts and long term sustainability planning
- Housing resources in context of “Local Supply and Demand”
- Updates from Committees (Coordinated Entry, Affordable Housing, Serving Vulnerable Populations)
All Grays Harbor area nonprofits and school districts that fit within our Giving Priorities are eligible to apply for a small grant. Grants are available for requests of $5,000 and below. Small Grant requests might include small scale technology needs, items for shelters or housing programs, food purchases for feeding programs, educational supplies for early learning or schools, small renovation or improvement projects, capacity building, etc. Organizations that are awarded small grants are still eligible to apply for our twice annual Community Building Grants program.
