A master of many musical styles and instruments, Dean Ratzman will entertain audiences at the Aberdeen Timberland Library in August. 

This afternoon show features family-friendly tunes. Light refreshments courtesy of the Friends of the Aberdeen Timberland Library.

Ratzman’s shows swing with music from the 1940s through Big Band, Jazz, Blues, Rock and Soul. From Sinatra to Santana, he taps into the musical memories of three generations.

Fantastic prizes will be raffled off throughout the evening, all for a great cause.

Grays Harbor College has received final approval for its third Bachelor of Applied Science degree, this one focused on K-8 Teacher Education. Courses will begin next Fall 2017, and students will be offered two pathways, K-8 Practicum or K-8 with Special Education.

 An informational session about the Bachelor of Applied Science – Teacher Education (BAS-TE) degree is planned for Thursday, October 20, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Room 4135 of the Schermer Building.

Beginning Thursday, participants are invited to post their costumes online and through social media platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter. All “Likes” will count as votes. Then at 7 p.m. on Monday, the results of the contest will be announced at the casino. Nominees and participants must be here to claim their prizes. Categories will include the same as Saturday’s event: scariest costume, most original costume, sexiest female costume, sexiest male costume, best couples costume and best group costumes. The Friends of the Winlock Timberland Library will hold their yearly Silent Auction of locally crafted, artisan items starting Tuesday, November 8. Here is the schedule:

  • Tuesday, November 8 – Auction opens, silent bids accepted at the library
  • Wednesday, November 23 at 2 p.m.- Bidding closes

All proceeds support events and programs at the Winlock Timberland Library.
