A master of many musical styles and instruments, Dean Ratzman will entertain audiences at the Aberdeen Timberland Library in August.
This afternoon show features family-friendly tunes. Light refreshments courtesy of the Friends of the Aberdeen Timberland Library.
Ratzman’s shows swing with music from the 1940s through Big Band, Jazz, Blues, Rock and Soul. From Sinatra to Santana, he taps into the musical memories of three generations.

The Chehalis Watershed Festival Celebration is coming to Simpson Elementary School during Lake Sylvia Days as part of the Fall Festival in Montesano. The Celebration offers great activities for the whole family.
The Watershed Festival celebrates the Chehalis River, the plants, animals and people who depend on the river and its watershed. Local volunteers will provide activities that are both educational and fun. Come slide down the “Drain Dare” and learn how to keep water in the Chehalis River clean. Try your hand at moving earth like a river with the River Table. Learn about the fish you might see in the Chehalis River, including the spooky Lamprey, and try out the: Salmon Life-Cycle Beanbag Toss, Fishing For Facts, and How Wetlands Work.

Come out to Rokfest 6, the annual music event to raise funds for the South Pacific County Humane Society! Aberdeen Timberland Library presents Canoe Building in the Chinook Tradition, 6-7 p.m., October 17 for adults and teens. Tony Johnson is Tribal Chair for the Chinook Tribe–and a master canoe builder. He will share the lore and craftsmanship of building a wood canoe following tribal practices with a talk illustrated by slides of canoes he has built. Hot beverages will be provided at the event, courtesy of the Friends of the Aberdeen Timberland Library. This is part of Timberland Reads Together, an annual Timberland Regional Library district-wide program. For more information call 360-533-2360.
