Itβs the Sprout Film Festival and itβs here in Grays Harbor! Come enjoy an enlightening film featuring people with disabilities. The Arc and People First of Grays Harbor are hosting this film May 16th at 7pm at the 7th Street Theatre. The event includes 12 fun and inspirational films introducing people with disabilities, their challenges, and successes. Our goal is to raise awareness about the concerns and achievements people with intellectual and developmental disabilities face daily. The festival is engaging, interesting, and promotes inclusion. They will also be raffling a quilt made by self advocates of Quilt Harbor!
People first and the Arc of Grays Harbor are local advocates improving the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities. Tickets are ten dollars each or a family pack of five tickets for twenty five dollars. Start the evening with a short memorial and placement of flowers on Aberdeen’s Honor our Founding Family at 5:30 at Fern Hill Funeral Home (2208 Roosevelt Street, Aberdeen) followed by a social hour starting at 6:00pm at the Aberdeen Museum of History where you can mingle with friends and the suspects to gain clues to the murder and help to solve the case.
We will have special speakers, colorful characters and a killer desert.
The City of Aberdeen was founded by Mr. Samuel Benn on May 28, 1868, when Sam and his family landed on the banks of the Lower Chehalis. Mr. Bennβs birthday, July 2, is our official Foundersβ Day. Join us the Saturday prior to Independence Day each year to celebrate our city and its rich history full of logging, fishing, saloons, brothels, crime, mystery, culture and much, much more.
There will be a paradeΒ starting at 11:00 a.m., once the parade is over stroll to Broadway Street to enjoy the children’s fun area and vendors of all kinds. Enjoy the day and end it with a Beer Garden with live music to dance to your hearts content.
Beginning at the beautiful 1905 Aberdeen Mansion, enjoy a guided walk around Broadway Hill passing stately homes built at the turn of the century. Marvel at the architectural excellence all while hearing stories about the luxurious lives of the past owners from your local tour guide. End the tour with an exclusive look inside the Aberdeen Mansion along with a story of the wealthy Hulbert family, refreshments to follow.
Proceeds benefit the Aberdeen Lions Club.
Kaleidoscope Belly Dance presents MOSAIC IN MOTION; A celebration of performing arts, providing an environment for expression of movement for performers of all genres, ages, and levels of experience. This is a Free show that features many different genres of dance performance. A family friendly showcase of performance talent – dancers and performers to music – from Grays Harbor and beyond! This is a great way to show off how awesome our community is!
Painting and Story-time event with your favorite ‘brave’ Princess! Bring your kids to hear a story, get photos, and paint a one of a kind masterpiece to take home with them! Kids under 7 must be accompanied by an adult for entire event.

Childlike in his innocence but grotesque in form, Frankensteinβs bewildered Creature is cast out into a hostile universe by his horror-struck maker. Meeting with cruelty wherever he goes, the friendless Creature, increasingly desperate and vengeful, determines to track down his creator and strike a terrifying deal.
The FOSLS LAKE SYLVIA STATE PARK FALL FESTIVAL continues the tradition for our 12th year!
Come join us on SUNDAY, September 10th, 2023 from 8:30 – 4:00 for a day filled with fun and family activities.
If you enjoy running we have trail Races that begin at 8:30 am. From 10 β 4, you can find one of a kind art and hand crafted treasures at the Artisans Market and eat delicious food while enjoying great live music by talented local acts all on the peaceful shores of beautiful Lake Sylvia. There will also be a kayak paddling adventure, a Watershed Festival by the GH Stream Team, Galaxy Harbor Dancers and educational exhibits in the Legacy Pavilion. You can decorate a pumpkin or take a group photo in our photo booth and we will have kids activities as well.
Park for free at Simpson School (519 Simpson Ave W, Montesano WA), and take a free shuttle to the Festival. Parking inside the park is limited and requires a Discover Pass.
