Local artist and teacher Erik Sandgren will present a talk and slide show, “Harbor Artists: A Legacy.”
The presentation will include the work of Alexander Calder, Robert Motherwell, Lance Wood Hart, Lee Friedlander and the Runquist brothers, Albert and Arthur. A discussion of artistic intent and influence will follow the slide presentation.
Join the group and help select the titles we will read in the 2017-18 season. Everyone is welcome to attend and make suggestions.

Every facet of the event is examined to make it work hard for everyone involved. We promote the event but also promote the vendors. Tickets to the events open the door to speakers and workshops as well as live music and other events. There is no charge for parking.

La escritora Reyna Grande hablará del tema de la inmigración a través de su historia personal, compartiendo con el público el poder de la lectura y la escritura para sanar las heridas que resultan del trauma de la inmigración. Reyna hablará sobre los efectos que tuvo la separación familiar en su relación con sus padres, su traumática asimilación, y las barreras físicas y metafóricas que tuvo que enfrentrar para poder triunfar.. Explore the story of your immigration or an ancestor’s in this writing workshop under the guidance of author and poet Joanne Clarkson. Clarkson most recently published a volume of poetry, “The Fates,” which touched on her grandmothers’ immigration experiences.

Students in the Cascades program receive FREE college education on local campuses, wrap around services, and extensive tutoring, mentoring, and skills development. Students also have the opportunity to earn Microsoft Imagine Academy certifications and industry-recognized credentials in healthcare or information technology via hands-on, practical experience.
